Dr. Nimisha Patel has been in the eye care industry since 2007. Dr.Patel is a native Houstonian who attended Humble High School and graduated there in just 3 years. After that, she attended University of Houston (GO COOGS!!) for undergraduate school and received a Bachelor’s degree in Biology. Dr. Patel went to NOVA Southeastern University College of Optometry to receive her Doctorate of Optometry and Bachelor of Science in Vision Science.
Dr. Patel is certified by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry and is dedicated to providing her patients with the best eye care possible. She is licensed in the state of Texas as a Therapeutic Optometrist and Glaucoma Specialist. She also holds a valid license in the state of Florida. Dr. Patel is a proud and active member of the American Optometric Association, Texas Optometric Association, and Harris County Optometric Association.
Dr. Patel has received extensive clinical training in all areas of Optometry – including primary are, pediatrics, ocular emergencies, red eyes, cataracts, LASIK surgery (pre op & post op), glaucoma, diabetes, retinal disease, and specialty contact lens fitting. She completed her externship and training with top ophthalmologists in Florida for primary eye care and LASIK/Cataract surgery, pre op/post op care and management.
In 2012, Dr. Patel went to a medical mission trip to Jamaica with an entire team of doctors comprising of internal medicine specialists, dentists, OBGYNs, family-medicine doctors, physical therapists and occupational therapists. The mission of the trip was to provide quality health care and optometric service to the population in need and it was one of the most rewarding experiences in her life. Dr. Patel has always been a believer in community service and now she continues to carry on that belief. During her spare time, Dr. Patel enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter along with taking care of her parents
